Unlocking Potential

Shaping the Future

About Us

Committed to Enriching the Lives of Youth and Communities

At Dzidzo Foundation, we believe that children are the very essence of the future. Who they are tomorrow is essentially the outcome of how they are raised and nurtured today. We believe that all children deserve the same educational chances as anyone else. Acquiring basic skills like reading and writing have shown positive results to marginalised communities. Our mission is to provide access to an education and empower. Our programmes and initiatives aim to increase social mobility and build-self confidence to improve the lives of those we support.

To achieve the greatest impact, we are currently focusing on the following key priorities:

  • Child Sponsorship Programme: Without the help of our sponsors and your donations, the children supported by Dzidzo foundation would have little hope of securing a substantial education. The impact even small donations can make to a child and his or her family in the community in which we operate is enormous.  The average annual cost to send one child to school (fees, uniforms, books, school supplies, etc,) ages 5 to 12 is only $100, and around $200 for ages 13 to 18. For many families in rural Zimbabwe, these expenses can be overwhelming, leading to kids starting school later in their lives and/or dropping out of school completely. Together, we provide children with the tools they need to step confidently into the future.

  • Donjani Library Project: Libraries are fundamental and are the cornerstones of a healthy community. We regularly collect and send donated books and educational resources to increase the quality of education of those we support. This helps individuals and local communities to access, read and understand books. The provision of books and educational resources enable students to acquire knowledge and achieve their full potential. We fulfil our mission with the generous support of donors, volunteers, sponsors and partners. You can support us today by donating books or donating towards the next shipment!

Your Chance to Make an Impact

At Dzidzo Foundation, we believe that providing a nurturing environment for our youth is essential to their overall development. Since 2007, we have impacted the lives of children and communities in Zimbabwe, and we couldn’t have done it without the generous contributions of our donors. Children are the leaders of tomorrow and we are here to help them reach their fullest potential. Your donations can support with tuition fees, educational material, community initiatives and more. Donate today and make a world of difference in a child’s life.

Future Projects

Dzidzo Digital: We believe that technology has become a necessity for education because it creates a better learning environment. Computers allow easy communication and access to educational resources. We are now accepting donations of computers, tablets and mobile telephones from individuals, companies, schools, universities and government agencies. These will then be data-wiped, professionally refurbished and used in our projects to help bridge the digital divide.

Beyond the Classroom Programme: This programme will provide virtual and face to face workshops for young people and communities in the UK. These workshops will explore influences on young people’s body image and self-esteem. The self-esteem workshops address key topics, including the impact of society, professional and social media on appearance ideals, and give you strategies to boost confidence with students. This will be achieved through class discussions, small-group activities, engaging videos and activity worksheets.
